OSGi Alliance to Conduct Asian Technology Tour; Singapore and Tokyo on Presentation Route.

The OSGi(TM) Alliance, an open forum focusing on the network delivery and management of services to all types of networked devices in home, vehicle, mobile, and other environments, has announced special presentations in Asia, where there has been considerable interest in the OSGi Service Platform.

Presenting August 26, 2003 at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) seminar in Singapore will be Dr. John Barr, Director, Standards Realization, Motorola, Inc., and President of the OSGi Alliance; Peter Kriens, CEO, aQute, and OSGi Director of Technology; Lawrence Chan, Vice President Asia Pacific, Echelon Corporation and Regional VP for Asia Pacific for the OSGi Alliance; and Kai Hackbarth, Product Manager, ProSyst Software AG and Requirements Chair for the OSGi Alliance. The next day will feature an OSGi Developer's Tutorial by Kriens. The group will then move on to Tokyo, Japan on August 28 for more informational sessions there. The Tokyo meeting will contain a mix of OSGi member companies and non-member companies interested in how the OSGi technology can improve opportunities for revenue growth via the OSGi Service Platform. Non-member companies will have an opportunity to interact with OSGi member companies to learn how the OSGi Alliance is working together to enable these markets.
